Current Project
Goals
- To examine the utility of the SCCT model in predicting, over time, the satisfaction and persistence in engineering for White women and Latino/a college students and recent graduates.
- To understand the role of social cognitive, environmental and cultural factors in the retention of White women and Latino/as in the engineering pipeline over time.
- To provide information on the generalizability of the SCCT model across gender, ethnicity, and the interaction of gender and ethnicity.
- To understand individual and institutional factors that influence the decision to persist or leave engineering majors, and to determine how these influences differ by gender and ethnicity over time.
